Pauline Lesage, MD, LLM, is the director of the Palliative Care Division of the Department of Pain Medicine and Palliative Care. She is an Associate Professor in the Department of Family and Social Medicine and the Department of Anesthesiology, Albert Einstein College of Medicine, and a Hospice Medical Director for Continuum Hospice Care. Dr. Lesage is a graduate of McGill University School of Medicine, and earned her law degree at Sherbrooke University. She has been board certified in palliative medicine since 2003. Dr. Lesage is a recognized expert in the fields of palliative and hospice care, legal medicine and bioethics. She has authored articles ranging from cancer pain management and palliative or end-of-life care to such topics as ethical and organizational aspects of medical practice. Dr. Lesage is the author of a book on patient consent to medical care and the role of full disclosure. She lectures internationally on these topics.
