Hospice and Palliative Care: Slides from the Nov 2012 Symposium We are pleased to post slides from our recent conference, “Hospice and Palliative Care: 2012 Update for the Specialist Team,” a CME conference which was jointly sponsored by the Department of Pain Medicine and Palliative Care of Beth Israel Medical Center and MJHS Hospice and Palliative Care. The conference, attended by over 300 professionals, took place at the New York Marriott Marquis on November 27, 2012. Pain and symptom management is essential for all patient populations, but especially for those receiving palliative care or end-of-life care. This conference highlights the importance of pain and symptom management in the setting of advanced illness through an interdisciplinary approach involving physicians, nurses, social workers and other members of the health care team.
