Dr.
Ricardo Cruciani is Vice-Chairman and Chief of the Pain Division, Department
of Pain Medicine and Palliative Care at Beth Israel Medical Center, New York,
and Associate Professor, Departments of Neurology and Anesthesiology at the
Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Cruciani attended the University of
Buenos Aires School of Medicine where he graduated Summa Cum Laude and received
his MD degree and a PhD in Pharmacology in a combined program with the National
Institutes of Health. He is a Neurologist with an active practice in pain medicine,
a researcher who has published more than 100 articles and chapters, and an educator
who is involved in all of the Department's training programs. His research interest
includes neuropathic pain and opioid pharmacology. Dr. Cruciani also directs
the Institute for Noninvasive Brain Stimulation of New York which offers a unique
therapy--transcranial direct current stimulation--to those with chronic pain.
