Dr. Sheu is the Director of the Pain Division, Department of Pain Medicine
and Palliative Care at Beth Israel Medical Center. He is experienced
in the application of interventional and non-interventional approaches
to pain management. He specializes in the surgical placement of intrathecal
catheters and implanted pumps along with dorsal column spinal cord stimulators.
He performs interventional spinal procedures under fluoroscopy and is
experienced in the use of cryotherapy and radiofrequency for nerve ablation.
Dr. Sheu is involved in several ongoing research projects including
laproscopic guided cryoablation for the treatment of specific types
of neuropathic pain. He is also the co-principle investigator on a program
designed to monitor the change in pain practice following the implementation
of a training program for primary care physicians within several managed
care practices.
