Formerly Director of the Division of Pain Management in the Department
of Anesthesiology and Director of Fellowship Training in Pain Management
at Montefiore Medical Center, Dr. Kaplan is listed as one of the Best
Pain Management Physicians in New York ("The Best Doctors in New
York", New York Magazine, page 62, June 7, 1999). His interests
in pain problems are varied. He judiciously tempers interventional approaches
with more conservative treatments.
Since 1981, Dr. Kaplan has lectured and participated in presentations
and research. He reviews articles submitted for publication and has
been called upon for expert testimony in legal cases. He has published
numerous medical articles and co-authored book chapters and abstracts.
Patients are seen by appointment. Submission of prior treatment records
with a referral letter is required in order to maximize therapeutic
planning and intervention at the initial and subsequent visits.
