The Asian Family Caregiver Handbook, published by the Asian Family Caregiver Program in Beth Israel’s Department of Pain Medicine and Palliative Care (DPMPC) and the Asian Services Center (ASC), has received a Bronze award from the 2011 National Health Information Awards program in the ‘book’ category for content and design creativity.

StopPain.org has received a Platinum Winner award in the 2005 MarCom Creative Awards competition. This is an international competition judged by industry professionals who look for talent that exceeds a high standard of excellence and that serves as a benchmark. There were 4,613 entries from the US and other countries in the 2005 competition.


"Cinema in Industry" (CINDY) Award, 2003
"Clinical Management of Neuropathic Pain: A Problem-Based, Interactive Module" was awarded an international Silver CINDY Award. This competition, recognizing excellence in both linear and interactive media, received nearly 3,500 entries for the Spring 2002 International Competition, with the Beth Israel Medical Center entry placing in the top 15 percent of all programming entered.

Circle of Life Award 2000
The Department of Pain Medicine and Palliative Care was awarded an honorary mention with commendation by the Circle of Life Award: Celebrating Innovation in End-of-Life Care. Selected in a competitive process, out of 120 applicants, the department was cited as 'a leader of innovation in end-of-life care in the academic medical setting' and as 'providing a model for others.'

Established by the American Hospital Association, funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, and co-sponsored by the American Medical Association, the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization, and the American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging, the Circle of Life Award was established in 1999 to honor innovative programs that improve care for people in their last days of life.
