Palliative Care Manual

The Palliative Care Manual was developed in response to increasing professional interest in implementing palliative care programs in health care settings throughout the country. The manual provides the following topics and information:

An introduction to palliative care A step-by-step guide to planning and implementing a palliative care program A description of the interdisciplinary palliative care clinical team A review of different models currently being used to provide palliative care in the United States

	A guide to developing policies and procedures for palliative care programs
	An overview of the Palliative Care for Advanced Disease critical pathway being implemented at Beth Israel Medical Center
	A review of palliative care education programs for different disciplines
	A discussion of research in palliative care
	A guide for long-term planning
	Resources for needs assessments, outcomes assessments, education programs, policies and procedures, among others
