Hospice Home Care Supervisor
Advance Practice Nurse: Department of Pain Medicine and Palliative Care


The Department of Pain Medicine and Palliative Care at Beth Israel Medical Center, New York, is seeking RNs and LPNs for home hospice care, a Hospice Home Care Supervisor, and an Advance Practice Nurse (APN) for pain management and palliative care.

Hospice Nurses: RNs, LPNs

Liaison Hospice/Home Care

Provide palliative nursing care to the terminally ill, primarily in home care but inclusive of nursing home and off-site inpatient settings in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens. Coordinate interdisciplinary care plans and supervise home health aides. Requires a current NYS RN license, Bachelors degree preferred. Car necessary (not in Manhattan). Per Diem and full-time/on-call positions are also available to service Manhattan, Brooklyn, Bronx, and Queens.

Hospice LPN

Requires 1-2 years med/surg experience. Per Diem and full-time positions available.

Hospice Home Care Supervisor

Coordinate the administrative clinical and multidisciplinary team activities of the hospice home-care program in Manhattan with direct supervision of home care nurses. Participate in program development and quality improvement. Requires a Bachelors degree, a current NY State license, and a minimum of 5 years experience in oncology, hospice, or home-care setting. Master's degree preferred. Commitment to a hospice philosophy essential. Leadership experience required.

Advance Practice Nurse: Department of Pain Medicine and Palliative Care

The APN for Pain Medicine and Palliative Care is primarily responsible for pain and symptom management of patients with acute pain and malignant and nonmalignant chronic pain in ambulatory and inpatient settings. The APN will consult on pain management with the nursing staff and serve as liaison between the Department of Pain Medicine and Palliative Care (DPMPC) and Patient Care Services. The APN in the DPMPC will provide leadership in developing evidence-based standards of care, educational programs, and quality improvement studies. Masters degree required, NP preferred.
