Donald D. Price, Ph.D., is Professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery,
Department of Oral Surgery and Neuroscience, at the McKnight Brain Institute,
University of Florida College of Medicine, in Gainesville, Florida.
Dr. Price earned his doctorate in physiology at the University of California,
Davis. He received a postdoctoral fellowship to the University of California,
Los Angeles, where he studied anatomy/neuroscience.

The author of 185 publications, Dr. Price is associate editor of the Journal
of Pain.
His research interests include neurophysiologic mechanisms by which pain-related
information is encoded and transmitted; neuropharmacologic mechanisms
and tolerance of opioid analgesia; hyperalgesia; and psychologic mechanisms
of pain processing and pain modulation. He holds four U.S. patents.
