A "family caregiver" is anyone who provides any type of physical and/or emotional care for an ill or disabled loved one at home. Sometimes, "family" is whoever shows up to help. This site is provided to help you obtain information about caregiving, recognize when you need help, ask for and accept assistance from others, and take care of yourself.

To find out about our caregiver programs, see our calendar of events. These programs include:

Telephone support groups for caregivers who would like to exchange experiences and coping strategies from the convenience of their homes or offices. These groups will be available via a toll free number to caregivers in the United States and Canada.

Live webcast seminars for caregivers of the medically ill. These seminars, which will be offered free of charge through the Internet and via telephone, will provide practical information from experts in the field.

Also available is The Caregiver Resource Directory, a practical guide that includes much of the information available on this site, while also offering a way to organize materials and information. Find out more about the Caregiver Resource Directory, or order a free copy.

This Caregiver Resource Directory is available in Adobe Acrobat PDF format. You will need the free Acrobat Reader application to download and print these files.
